Post-Holiday Blog!!

Well it's been awhile (I'm never as good as I wish I could be at keeping up with this thing!)...and I hope that everyone had a safe and blessed holiday season!! Addie's first Christmas was busy but wonderful! (Below is a picture of her first Christmas Tree picking experience!! She loved the tree with all the twinkling lights and ornaments!) We celebrated with my dad's side of the family the weekend before Christmas at my aunt's cabin in Tahoe. It was beautiful there and we enjoyed spending time with my sister and her family who came down from Northern California. Then on Christmas Day we wento to Mark's parents in the morning and my mom's parents in the afternoon. Addison enjoyed opening the presents more than the presents themselves and thought wrapping paper was better than any toy!!

Addison after her first Thanksgiving meal - full and happy!

Addison continues to grow...Mommy thinks way too fast! :) At her last doctor's appointment 2 weeks ago she was 17 lbs 7 oz and 28 inches long!! Her first birthday is fast approaching, which I can not believe!
She loves bath time, as you can see from the picture below! She has been sick the last few days, with a 102 degree fever, cough, stuffy nose...the works! But as soon as we'd put her in the bath tub you couldn't even tell she was sick! Gone was the poor fussy, icky feeling baby and back was our happy smiley girl! Unfortunately though we were unable to keep her in the bath for the duration of her illness!
Addie loves her bath time!!
Addison still has yet to get any teeth, but everyone seems to notice how much hair she is getting...it's getting pretty long, though you can't tell from the bath picture! She is also mobile now and one of her favorite new activities is pulling herself up on the coffee table and pulling down anything she can reach! Gone are the days of my sweet angel sitting quietly on my lap - and though it is much more work it is so much fun to watch her crawl around and explore all the new places her little arms and legs can take her! Mark and I enjoy her more each day!

I received some wonderful news in the middle of December when I learned that I'd been accepted into the Nursing program at MJC! I began school on January 12th and while it has been busy, and will continue to become even more busy, I feel so incredibly blessed to have been accepted and am enjoying mostly every second of it...hard studying and all! It was something I'd been striving for even prior to graduating from UCSB and was truly an answer to many prayers! We had to start Addie in daycare though which was difficult. However, we know of a wonderful place where Mark's brother and his wife take their children and we were able to get Addie in there...it's a wonderful place, reasonably priced, and directly across the street from my school! It's absolutely perfect and she seems to be enjoying it very much...she loves all of the bigger kids, as she's one of youngest, and they all seem to have fun playing with her as well!
Mark continues to work at the Post Office in Riverbank, and though he is not getting nearly the number of hours he has in the past, he is still working and we are thankful for that!
